An enabling ecosystem to attract private sector which addresses correspondingly the concerns of all stakeholders, that is the government, regulator, industry, and consumers will make PPP one of the feasible mechanisms to complement the efforts of the government to transform the management of water & wastewater holistically.
Ms Debashree Mukherjee, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti underscored for making PPP in water & wastewater management meaningful and pragmatic by designing regulation in a manner to ensure risk is balanced amongst stakeholders. Mr Baldeo Purushartha, Joint Secretary (IPF), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance observed that PPP endeavor in water & wastewater can be feasible if user charge is prefixed and all stakeholders are on board.
