CII organized the 9th edition of Pulp and Paper Summit with the theme - "Towards a Sustainable Pulp and Paper Industry: Water for Growth, Inclusiveness, Globalization and Building Trust”.
This edition featured an exposition, 2 days of stimulating and impactful Plenaries, B2B Meetings, and International collaboration.
The Summit would bring together diverse stakeholders from the Pulp and Paper Industry who deliberate on the various challenges, good practices adopted and the available technology solutions for water and wastewater management.

- A holistic approach to water management including extensive use of new age real-time technologies for measuring and monitoring, recycle & reuse key to water conservation.
- Availability of fiber a big challenge for the industry, need for shifting to virgin fiber-based industry.
- Need for promoting more research and development on developing new species of plantations that could be grown in water stressed areas.
- Governance of water management calls for a participatory and integrated approach with the involvement of all stakeholders. Any reform in the water sector should be introduced through consultation and consensus with the stakeholders.
- Industrial symbiosis should be prioritized to conserve and manage natural resources. Going forward industry should strive to achieve water neutrality confirming the guidelines prescribed by NITI Aayog.
- Pulp &Paper sector as a responsible industry should strive to source its raw materials from sustainable sources and simultaneously enhance the source of raw material procurement.
